PINK FIST AS A VIRAL SYMBOL
Rick Robinson’s Pink Fist artwork, inspired by a simple message to vote, was his personal response to the demands for social justice and the passionate voices expressed on the streets during 2020.
The image with the word “VOTE” over the fist symbol was featured in iconic spaces such as Times Square, NYC, Hollywood Blvd, LA, SF and Atlanta, GA, as a means to raise awareness during the 2020 election and also raise funds for The Center for Common Ground, a 501(c)(3) non-partisan voting rights organization.

A Personal Public Action
This is my response to the recent demands for social justice and the passionate voices expressed on the streets.
The message is simple: VOTE
It’s our single greatest collective power. It’s what generations have fought and died to protect. It’s our privilege, obligation and duty as citizens.
The inspiration for the image came from the fist stencils that went up all over LA - tough, defiant, fierce, determined and committed. I chose pink for love. Flowers for nature, renewal, beauty. The cement backdrop as a nod to the feet on the streets. The end composition a merger of soft yet hard power.
VOTE is the action.
Thousands of posters, stickers and postcards are en route to a small army who will perpetrate this message across several major US cities. You will also see large scale #PINKFIST images on billboards in several key markets.
Look for evidence here and on IG PRIMITIVEPOPLA as they get posted and join the voices in The People’s Space.
I will sustain from today through Election Day.
